CBOE VIX Falls Back Near Long-Term Average
The CBOE Volatility Index fell Wednesday, moving towards some of its long term averages as the U.S. stocks continued their rebound from the lows seen in the last two weeks. The VIX has seen wild ranges as of late, as traders analyze the implications of inflation returning to the U.S. stock market. Although the index is trading significantly lower since its high of 38.8, it is still up 60% on the year. The decline has come among a widespread recovery in stocks, and as traders look ahead to the Federal Reserve meeting minutes, which are scheduled to be released later today.
